Our Building Control - In a Nutshell

We provide a personal, cost-effective, specialist Building Control service on a wide range of project developments and types from residential to commercial; from bespoke houses to hospitals, retail developments – even airports.

Our Role as an Approved Inspector

When you appoint our Building Control department, we will notify your local authority of your intended building work via an Initial Notice submission and we assume responsibility for plans checks and site inspections on your project.

Our role includes:

  • Giving advice about how the Building Regulations apply to your work
  • Checking your plans
  • Inspecting the work as it progresses
  • Issuing a final certificate

We administer our obligations fairly, guided by what we believe is a common goal – we all want to design and construct buildings that are functional and safe.

Getting it right

All Approved Inspectors are required to be registered with and licensed by CICAIR, the Government regulator for the industry. Our Building Control department has its own license renewed every five years and in the interim we have a strict code of conduct to which we abide. Further information about this can be found on the CICAIR website.

You can also view our Building Control department's approval status on the CICAIR register.

  • We keep a ‘golden thread’ of information about each stage, or sign off on site, at each stage of work.
